We will post information here, as it becomes available to us.
Highway projects in Pennsylvania have been halted. We do not know when we will restart highway projects but are working with PennDOT and PA Turnpike Commission to develop a plan to successfully restart projects, when we are permitted. Paving projects will be first in line.
PAPA OFFICE IS OPERATING REMOTELY - According to the Governor's Directive, PAPA's physical office is closed with contingency plans in place to continue operations uninterrupted. Staff have remote access and tele-work capability. Information technology assets used by the association provide numerous ways for the association to deliver services. The phone system forwards voice-mail messages electronically to staff. PAPA also has "GoToMeeting" platform available for meetings and other knowledge-transfer activities.
This is the latest update regarding PennDOT. Please review the news release but here is the news that impacts our industry: “All PennDOT District and County maintenance offices are closed. Additionally, construction projects have been suspended in all counties until further notice, however PennDOT crews are available to perform critical functions and emergency maintenance as needed.”
PAPA 2020 Environmental Seminar - Postponed Refunds will be processed as quickly as possible. The Seminar will likely be scheduled Fall 2020.
PAPA 2020 Regional Technical Meetings - CanceledREFUNDS: Beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, we will start making refunds to the 350+ attendees who registered for the meetings. WEBINAR: We are working to schedule a Regionals Technical Webinar in May to cover all topics that were to be covered at the Regional Technical Meetings. We will work with NECEPT and PennDOT to determine how to handle registration so that attendees will be able to receive NECEPT credits. We will forward information to you as soon as it's available.
OTHER PAPA IMPACTS There are several scheduled upcoming meetings and events. We are closely monitoring the progression of COVID-19 travel restrictions and bans, and will notify participants of any cancelations.
