The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that starting Thursday, June 27, its contractor will begin preparatory work on a project to repair and resurface two sections of Route 24 in York County: 4.22 miles of Winterstown Road from the intersection with Route 216 through Winterstown Borough and North Hopewell Township, along the York-Windsor Township Line to the intersection with Felton Road at the Red Lion Borough Line; and a .52-mile section of Center Street from the Mount Wolf Borough-East Manchester Township Line to the intersection with Route 921 and Main Street in Mount Wolf.

PennDOT has worked with the Pennsylvania Asphalt Pavement Association to develop a standard special provision (SSP) facilitating the use of higher amounts of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) into 19.0 mm asphalt mixtures for use on low volume roadways. The SSP allows up to a maximum of 50% RAP by weight in the mix, however, existing approved mixes with lesser quantities of RAP may also meet the requirements of the SSP. The SSP is available for use immediately on projects.

SOL 481-18-01: Respirable Crystalline Silica Rule Specifications The intent of this Strike-Off Letter is to implement revisions to Publication 408, Section 107.08 Occupational Safety and Health, specification for Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS). The revisions will be incorporated into the next change to Pub 408, and are initially issued as a Standard Special Provision (a00045) Changes to Specifications: Section 107), with instructions that it be included in all projects let after March 1, 2018.

This Technical Brief provides project selection guidelines for the cold recycling techniques of cold in-place and cold central plant recycling. The Tech Brief intends to aid the user in properly selecting candidate projects for using cold pavement recycling.
