Webinar Spotlight: Porous Asphalt Pavement for Stormwater Management

Registration is open for the Asphalt Pavement Alliance's free webinar on porous pavement best practices, design, and construction. Presented by James J. Purcell, P.E., PMP. July 20 from 3-4 p.m. EDT. Participating professional engineers will receive one hour of PDH credits.

Porous Asphalt Pavement for Stormwater Management

Porous asphalt pavement is a storm water management solution that reduces storm water runoff, improves water quality, and reduces the footprint for storm water management systems. This 1-hour presentation discusses the need for porous pavement, the design of the storm water management system, the system components and materials, and the construction of porous asphalt pavement to maximize the benefits. Based on the best management practices promulgated by the Departments of Environmental Protection, specifications for open-graded asphalt pavement, and lessons learned from actual construction projects across the United States, the presentation illustrates the best practices to ensure a long-lasting, effective storm water management system.

Attendees will learn:
• Why porous asphalt pavements are needed
• How they reduce storm water runoff and improve water quality
• Best practices for design and construction, and
• Lessons learned to maximize the benefits of a well-maintained porous asphalt system for storm water management

This webinar is RCEP approved.
